PETERSFIELD UNION. 

     THE Board of Guardians will at their meeting to be holden at the Union Workhouse, on Friday the 8th day of March next proceed to the Election and Appointment of TWO MEDICAL OFFICERS, to attend on and supply Medicines to the Poor for the undermentioned Districts, viz. 

    District No. 1 —Comprising the parishes of Colemore, Eastmeon,  Froxfield, Prior’s Deane, and Privett, and containing a population of 2735.

    District No. 2—Comprising the parishes of Buriton, Petersfield, including the Union Workhouse, Sheet, Steep, Liss, Greatham, Hawkley, and Empshott, and containing a population of 4726.

     The salaries will be—for District No. 1, £45; and for District No. 2, £50, for one year from the 25th day of March next, with ten shillings for every ordinary case of midwifery, and the extra allowances for special cases of midwifery, and other services and operations, as prescribed by the Poor Law Commissioners in their order dated the 12th of March, 1842.

     Medical gentlemen, duly qualified, and desirous of being appointed to either of the above districts, are requested to forward written applications, addressed to "The Chairman of the Petersfield Union," to the porter at the Union Workhouse, by nine o'clock in the morning of the said 8th day of March next. Only one district will be assigned to any candidate.

      The Board of Guardians will at the same time and place be ready to receive the usual tenders, upon the usual terms, for supplying the Out-door Poor and the Union Workhouse with Bread, Flour, Groceries, Meat, and other Provisions, for three months, from the said 25th of March next. 

     Forms and particulars may had from the Relieving Officers and Masters of the Workhouse. 

     All demands on the Union to be sent to the Clerk by the 18th March.
