402 | Kathleen Jeann Louise HALL She was born in Liverpool, as her father Herbert was in the Merchant Navy and her mother Simonne was living there. She spent some of her childhood in Holland and Belgium (Simonne was Belgian) before her father got a job as port pilot at Visagapatam, India (East coast). She was sent to a boarding school in Darjeeling in the foothills of the Himalayas, travelling alone for 2 or 3 days by train. After school she joined the Womens Royal Indian Navy and when she returned to England joined the Womens Royal Navy. She met Lt. John CULBERTSON an RN Fleet Air Arm pilot and married him on 16-Dec-1950 at Colchester, Essex. They had 2 children Geoffrey on 05-Dec-1951 and Jolyon on 05-Mar-1954.
