Notes - In the Morning Post dated 23 Apr 1845 Ellen Culbertson's death was announced stating she was the youngest daughter of the late John Ashlin Esq., of Lavender Hill, Surrey [5]
- The Freeman's Journal dated 9 Feb 1870 reports the case of Culbertson v Wood. This report indicates that John Ashlin (J M Ashlin) died 25 Aug 1838 and that his will appointed Dornida Ashlin, J W Coppinger, S W Coppinger and G Ashlin as his executors. Probate was granted to the 1st 3 named. [1]
- The Freeman's Journal dated 9 Feb 1870 reports that John Ashlin made a will dated 23 Feb 1823 leaving £3500 to his daughter Ellen Ashlin [1]
