6 Jan 1844 The Champion, Death announcement
Died — Suddenly at his residence, Knox's-street, on the 2nd inst., David Culbertson, Esq., aged 65 years. The deceased was a merchant of great respectability, and possessed all through life a deservedly high character for integrity; his commercial transactions were of a most extensive description, and they were conducted with that regularity and honour, which have contributed so much to exalt the characters of our merchants in other parts of the world. His mortal remains were accompanied on yesterday to their final resting place by a large concourse of persons, including all the respectable inhabitants of the town. The funeral discourse was pronounced by the Rev. Mr. Heron, Presbyterian Minister, who was throughout most effective and impressive.
