PETERSFIELD, February 23.
THE TWELFTH HANTS VOLUNTEER RIFLE CORPS.—The first section of the 12th Hants Rifle Volunteers completed their first period of practice on Tuesday. The firing generally was not quite so good as on the former occasion, probably owing to the greater range. Sergeant Seward, however, made good shooting, scoring 14 points and making two bull’s eyes. Serjeant Macfarland also made a bull’s eye. The following have obtained a sufficient number of points to allow them to pass into the second class:—Lieut. Sir W. Knighton, Serjeants Seward and Macfarland, Corporal Caplen, Privates Chalcroft and Ayling. The following are the points made on Tuesday from ten rounds each:—
