MARRIAGES.
On the 20th inst., at Petworth, by the Rev. C. Holland, rector, John Richardson, Esq. of Petersfield, to Frances, third daughter of Benj. Challen, Esq., of Petworth.
PETWORTH.
CELEBRATION OF A DOUBLE WEDDING.—Our town was all alive on Tuesday last, it being the occasion of the marriage of Miss Frances and Miss catherine Challen, daughters of our respected townsman, B. Challen, Esq., the former to J. Richardson, Esq., of Petersfield, and the latter to J. Othen, Esq., of Midhurst. The ceremony took place at a quarter past 11 o’clock, at which time the church was thronged with people, many coming from the adjacent villages to witness the interesting ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. C. Holland, rector. The church bells rang forth merry peals throughout the day, and many were the hearty wishes for the welfare of the happy couples who left in the afternoon for their wedding tour.
