PETERSFIELD.

A FAT RAFFLE.—A raffle of a very interesting nature took place at the Red Lion Inn, on the fair day here for one of those splendid beasts, exhibited at the great market, belonging to Mr. Chalcraft, of Bramshott, and which was noticed in this paper of the 4th inst. It was put up for £50, by fifty members, at £1 each, and after considerable excitement, was won by Mr. Harris, of the Seven Stars Inn, Steep, who threw for the men in the employ (as farm labourers) of Mr. C. Parr, of Westmeath Farm. This will tend to make ‟a merry Christmas” for those ‟sons of toil,” so well deserving of fortunes favours. We understand that the bullock was sold to Mr. Wakeford, butcher, of Liphook, and the amount divided between the men.
