The Petersfield Friendly Society held their annual anniversary on the 24th ult.; they attended divine service, where a sermon was preached by the Rev. Mr. Postlethwaite. One hundred and twelve members partook of an excellent dinner at the Fighting Cocks Inn, served in Mrs. Pearson's best style; Mr. G. Rodman presided; the Alton band, directed by their talented leader, Mr. M. H. Powel, attended and performed admirably. Messrs. May and Bridger, of Alton and Haslemere, sung several songs also; the day was spent in social harmony. The society's funds are flourishing.
