PETERSFIELD, November 12.

THE REV. H. WARBURTON, M.A., Inspector, held his annual examination of the pupil teachers of this neighbourhood in the Petersfield National School-rooms, on Thursday, the result of which was upon the whole very gratifying and creditable to both candidates and their teachers. After the examination the young folks sat down to a substantial repast, which was kindly provided by the rector, the Rev. J.M. Sumner

NATIONAL SCHOOLS.—On Thursday last H.M. Inspector (the Rev. W. H. Warburton, M.A.), held the annual examination of the pupil teachers connected with these schools, as well as those of Buriton, Eastmeon, and Westmeon, in the Petersfield school-room. We are glad to hear that the several pupil teachers acquitted themselves to the satisfaction of the Inspector, and the rev. gentleman expressed himself particularly pleased with the drawing of those connected with the Petersfield schools. After the examination the whole of those present sat down to a substantial tea, kindly provided by the worthy rector (the Rev. J. M. Sumner), after which the young folks engaged in sundry games, forgetting in the pleasure of the moment, the difficulties they nad encountered during the year in preparing for this examination. The party separated about three hearty cheers for the Rev. J. M. and Mrs. Sumner, and looking forward with pleasure to their meeting again next year.
