ROGATE.

FRIENDLY SOCIETY’S ANNIVERSARY.—On Thursday last the anniversary of the Rogate Friendly Society was held at the Flying Bull Inn in this parish. The Haslemere band was in attendance, and we believe the members altogether enjoyed themselves. We hear this society is fast sinking to decay, for at the last quarter night they had, we believe, scarcely any money in the box. They have from what we glean £100 out at use, but this must soon be gone if the club continues. We believe it has been suggested to share the £100, and there are between 60 and 70 members. This is another proof of what societies must come to founded on such principles. A great number of these societies are so founded, and members of such societies would do well to examine their state.
