PETERSFIELD.]—CONFIRMATION.—On Sunday, the 9th inst., the Bishop of Winchester is announced to preach at Buriton church in the morning on behalf of the Church Missionary Society, and on the following day (Monday) he will hold a Confirmation service at half-past two in Petersfield church.

PETERSFIELD—A Confirmation was held here on Monday last, when about 140 young persons of both sexes partook of the solemn ordinance, at the hands of the Lord Bishop of Winchester. The candidates included those from Liss, Steep, Greatham, and Froxfield, as well as Petersfield.
A very eloquent sermon was preached in Buriton on Sunday last by the Right Hon. and Right Rev. Bishop Sumner, in behalf of the Church Missionary Society, when, notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather there was a good attendance.
