At the first meeting of the Board of Guardians of the Petersfield Union, held at the Board-room in the Union Workhouse, on Thursday the 18th inst., Messrs. Edward Shenton, of the Manor House, Buriton, and Richard John Pern Minty, of the Shaw, Petersfield, were again unanimously re-elected chairman and vice-chairman for the year ensuing. Both of these gentlemen have regularly attended the Board meetings during the past year, and devoted a great deal of their time and attention to promote the interests of the ratepayers and provide for the comfort of the poor in general.
