ROMSEY.

BURGLARY.—On Sunday night last, the dwelling-house of Joseph Williams, of East Willow, near Romsey, was broken open, and a pair of boots, a jacket, and other articles stolen therefrom. The thief obtained an entrance through a small back window, without disturbing the inmates. Information was given early in the morning to the police, who traced the offender through Romsey to Southampton and other places, and apprehended him near Petersfield with part of the property on him. The prisoner, who is a stranger in this neighbourhood, was taken before a county magistrate, on Wednesday, at the Clerk’s Office, and committed for trial at the next Winchester assizes.
