BURITON
ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF THE BENEFIT SOCIETY.—On Wednesday, the 14th inst., the Buriton Friendly Society held their anniversary at the Five Bells Inn. The members all sat down to a most excellent and substantial dinner, and all being highly gratified, gave great praise to the host and hostess. In the afternoon they paraded the village, and paid a visit to the new tenant of the Manor Farm. The society was patronised by the respected gentleman and family. The lads and lasses enjoyed themselves by dancing on the lawn to the merry strains of music. In the evening the whole scene was greatly enlivened by the Petersfield Rifle Band playing a long time, to the great amusement of all. Everything passed off well. It is thought the society will be greatly increased by the next anniversary.
