PETERSFIELD.—Great surprise is felt by the Conservative electors of this borough, that no candidate has come forward to represent their principles at the coming election. Mr. Nicholson, the Radical member, is unopposed, and although it is notorious that Captain Jolliffe's return would be certain if he could be induced to stand. For many years Petersfield returned a Conservative, and might do so again if so popular a candidate as Captain Jolliffe could be secured.
