CHATHAM, AND SHEERNESS DIRECT RAILWAY. 

     —A line to commence at the Bishopstoke station of the South-Western Railway, and running through Bishop's Waltham, Petersfield, Medhurst, to Petworth, where a branch to Portsmouth is struck out. The main line is then carried on to Horsham, falling into the Crawley and Horsham branch of the Brighton Railway. Making use of that branch it will proceed to East Grimstead, and join the South-Eastern Railway at Tunbridge station, where the projected Lewes, Brighton, and Tunbridge Wells line joins. Capital £1,500,000, in 60,000 shares of £25 each. Deposit £2 12s. 6d. per share. The committee is not yet announced.
