PETERSFIELD.
CHURCHER’S COLLEGE.— A committee meeting was held at this academy, on Thursday, July 21st, when the two vacancies were competed for by twelve candidates—eight scholars from the National School, one being successful; two from the British, unsuccessful; and two who had been receiving instruction at the college, one being successful. It is worthy of notice that this is the second time that candidates have proved fortunate after receiving tuition in this valuable institution, although each failed on preceding occasions. We are glad to add that the number in the private department has been considerably augmented, also that there is every probability of a future increase.
