CONDEMNED BOROUGHS
The Morning Chronicle has published a list of English boroughs, which, it says, ‟may regard their doom as sealed.” The list which is thus put forward, as condemned to extinction from representation, comprises fifteen boroughs, each having less than 300 electors, returning 23 representatives; and 46 boroughs, with between 300 and 500 electors, returning 64 representatives, making a total of 61 boroughs and 87 members. The former list includes Andover, Arundel, Ashburton, Calne, Chippenham, Harwich, Honiton, Knaresborough, Marlborough, Midhurst, Northallerton, Reigate, Richmond, Thetford and Wilton.
