PETERSFIELD.

CRICKET CLUB.—The annual meeting of the members was held on Thursday, the 30th March, at the Dolphin Hotel, when a goodly gathering assembled. R. S. Cross, Esq., vice-president, in the chair. The accounts for the past year were examined and passed. It is gratifying to say that the club was never in a more flourishing state than it is at present since its formation. Instead of, as heretofore, being a deficiency, there is now a balance of £8, after deducting all bad and doubtful subscriptions, which, with the annual subscriptions, amounting to £48, and the balance above, places £56 at the disposal of the committee for the ensuing season. The following list of new members were proposed by Mr. Underdown and seconded by Mr. Blackmore, viz., Captain Nicholson, Chiltley House; Captain Wells, Heath House; Captain Knight, Chawton House; Captain Sandeman, Stodham House, Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Dally, Mr. A. Grain, Mr. Grey, Mr. Soames, Mr. Wiffen, Mr. George Carter, jun., Leigh-park. It was proposed by Mr. Underdown, and seconded by Mr. Harffey, that J. B. Carter, Esq. M.P., be president. Proposed by Mr. G. H. Seward, seconded by Mr. Lucas, that R. S. Cross, Esq., be vice-president. Mr. Underdown proposed, and Mr. Soames seconded, that the following seven gentlemen form the committee of management for the ensuing season:—Messrs. G. L. Blackmore, Blanchard, C. Curtis, H. Dollery, J. Harffey, J. Lucas, and G. H. Seward. It was also resolved, on the motion of Mr. Blackmore, seconded by Mr. Seward, that Mr. Underdown be hon. sec.; and on the motion of Mr. Blackmore, seconded by Mr. Harffey, that Mr. Lucas be captain of the eleven. The usual vote of thanks was given to the secretary.

The first match for the season will be played on Monday, May the 8th, on the Heath, between members of the 12th Hants R.V. and members of the club.
