LISS.—FORESTERS’ CRICKET MATCH.—On Monday, the 22nd inst., a match was played between the Foresters of Rogate and Liss. The latter were kindly assisted by a few members from Court 4.479, Petersfield. The following is the score:—Liss—1st innings, 26; 2nd ditto, 29:—total, 55. Rogate—1st innings, 57; 2nd ditto, 71:— total, 128. On both sides there was some good batting and fielding. On behalf of Rogate, Mr. Frank Hounson, of Liss, did fearful execution with his bat, by making an excellent score of 33 runs, bringing out his bat after maintaining his place for nearly an hour during the second innings. A brass band was in attendance, which played several lively airs during the time. After the match the whole retired to the Blue Bells, when an excellent dinner was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Longhurst, the respected host and hostess. The evening was spent in singing and dancing until a late hour, when all retired to their respective homes, highly satisfied with the day’s amusement.
