PETERSFIELD.]—DEMOLITION OF TURNPIKE-GATES.—The old Rushes turnpike-gate, near the Petersfield Railway-station, is doomed for removal on or before the 1st of November next, and the freehold toll-house with large garden and orchard is to be sold by auction forthwith. A highly respected family by the name of Newton has been the resident collectors successively for upwards of fifty years. Other turnpike-gates under the same trusts are also expected to be done away with shortly.
