DIRECT PORTSMOUTH RAILWAY. —OPENING to WITLEY (for Petworth), HASLEMERE (for Midhurst), PETERSFIELD, and HAVANT. The PORTSMOUTH RAILWAY, forming a new route between London and Portsmouth, Via Guildford, is NOW OPEN for Traffic, excepting between Havant and Portsmouth. The Trains between London and Portsmouth, via Bishopstoke, run as formerly, and additional Trains over the new line run as follows: —From Waterloo Bridge Station to Havant at 7.15 and 11.30 a.m., and 3.40 and 7 p.m.; and from Havant to London at 7.52 a.m. and 12.2, 3.22., and 7.45 p.m. The 11 a.m. and the 3 p.m. Trains to Portsmouth, via Bishopstoke, and the 7 p.m Train, via Guildford, are Express Trains (1st and 2d class). The 8.10 a.m. and 4.15 p.m. Trains from Portsmouth, via Bishopstoke, and the 7.45 p.m Train, via Guildford, are Express Trains (1st and 2d class). The farees by the ordinary Trains are reduced between London and Portsmouth. Southampton, and several other stations. Passengers are conveyed between Havant and Portsmouth in about 35 minutes by four-horse omnibus to Cosham, and thence by Train to Portsmouth. Trains leave Portsmouth for Cosham at 7.15 and 11.25 a.m., and 2.45 and 7 p.m., arriving at Havant in time for the Trains to London.
