PETERSFIELD.

The facilities now offered in this town for the diffusion of knowledge and for general instruction, we think are not to be equalled in the county. It is also highly gratifying to see that they are appreciated by the inhabitants generally. In our columns during the present month, we published a notice of prizes and certificates (five in number) conferred by the Hants and Wilts Education Society on the adult classes in connection with the Petersfield National Schools, and which were distributed by the esteemed rector, with a suitable address to each member. We beg to state for the benefit of our readers that George Chitty, one of the successful candidates, was a pupil teacher of Mr. Alfred Dusautoy previous to his attending the adult class; also Henry Mills and Burnet, who were pupils of Mr. Fairbairn, at the Petersfield British Schools.
