LAWRENCE’S BANKRUPTCY.—Edward Lawrence, of 8, St. George’s-square, Portsea, licensed victualler, &c., applied for his discharge, at the London Court of Bankruptcy; on Friday. Mr. Doria appeared as counsel for the trade assignee, Mr. John Hammond, of Portsea, carpenter; Mr. Sargood supported the bankrupt, and Mr. T. Wavell, manager of the Universal Mercantile Association, represented the interests of that institution. The bankrupt’s total indebtedness was £1231 13s. 6d. of which, £612 18s. 6d. is owing to unsecured creditors. The accounts showed a deficiency of £169 13s. 7d. The creditor holding security is Mr. J. Bonham Carter, of Petersfield, whose debt amounts to £550, interest, £6B 15s. The bankrupt stated that his expenditure for the last two years had been £380, and that he had never been insolvent before. He received an immediate order of discharge, and several additional proofs were admitted.
