PETERSFIELD.
THE PETERSFIELD UNION.—The following is a copy of the entry made in the Union book by Mr. Hawley, the Poor Law Inspector, upon his late visit, which needs no comment and deserves publication:—
"I have inspected the workhouse this day, and at no former visit have found it in so effective a state. The guardians have made many judicious alterations, enlargements, and improvements for the comfort and convenience of the inmates, and the wants of all classes in the house seem to be liberally provided for.
W. H. T. HAWLEY,
Poor Law Inspector."
