PETERSFIELD.
FOUND DEAD IN A WELL.—On Monday morning last a farmer, aged about 60, was found dead in a well at Liss, where he had lived for many years. He had been seen about an hour previously, but how he came into the well is not known. The well is only about seven feet deep, and contains less than two feet of water. Deceased was found in a bent position, and quite dead. The inquest had not been held when our report was sent off.

INQUEST.—On Monday morning last, a farmer named Philp was found dead in a well at Liss, at which place he had lived for many years. He had been seen about an hour previously, but how he came into the well is not known, the well is only about 7 feet deep with less than 2 feet of water in it. Deceased was found in a bent position and quite dead. An inquest was held on Tuesday before E. Hoskins, Esq., the coroner, when a verdict of ‟Found dead” was returned.
