FARNHAM AND PETERSFIELD TURNPIKE ROAD.

     WHEREAS the TOLLS arising at all the several TURNPIKE GATES on the above Road have been this day, pursuant to due notice, put up to be LET by AUCTION, at the Spread Eagle, Liss, at the sum of 394l. (being the sum they were let for last year over and above the charges of collecting), and there appearing no bidder for the same, notice is hereby given that the said tolls will again be put up to be Let by Auction, at the house of William Hill, called by the name of the Spread Eagle, situate at Liss, in the County of Hants, on the 5th day of September next, at the hour of half-past Two in the afternoon, at such sum as the Trustees of the said Turnpike Road then present may agree upon, and in the manner prescribed and directed by the Act passed in the third year of the reign of' his late Majesty King George  the Fourth, for regulating turnpike roads, and subject to such conditions and restrictions as will on the said 5th day of September be then produced. Whoever happens to be the best bidder must at the same time pay to the Treasurer two months’ rent at which such Tolls shall be let in advance, and give security with sufficient sureties, to the satisfaction of the Trustees of the said Turnpike Road, for payment of the rest of the money by prospective monthly instalments, or in such other proportions as may be directed.
