FARNHAM AND PETERSFIELD TURNPIKE ROAD.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN.—That the TOLLS arising at the several Toll Gates upon r belonging to the above Road, called or known by the name of Holt Pound Gate, Sleaford Gate, Greetham Chain, Greetham Gate, and Bowyer’s Gate, will be LET by AUCTION, in one lot, by the Trustees then present, for One Year, from the hour of twelve at noon of the 12th day of September next, to the best bidder or bidders for the same, at the house of William Hill, called or known by the name or sign of the Spread Eagle, situate at Liss, in the county of Hants, at the hour of two precisely, in the afternoon of the 8th day of September, 1865, in the manner prescribed and directed by the Act passed in the third year of the reign of his late Majesty King George the Fourth, ‟for regulating Turnpike Roads,” and subject to such conditions and restrictions as will on the said 8th day of September, be then produced; which Tolls last year were let for the sum of £363, above the expenses of collecting them, and will be put up at that sum.
Whoever happens to be the best bidder for the lot, must, at the same time, pay to the Treasurer two months’ rent at which such Tolls may be let in advance, and give security, with sufficient sureties, to the satisfaction of the Trustees of the said Turnpike Road, for payment of the rest of the money by prospective monthly instalments, or in such other proportions as may be directed.
