PETERSFIELD.—FATAL ACCIDENT.—Monday last, a man named Samuel Edwards, in the employ of Messrs. Brassey and Co., contractors on the Direct Portsmouth Railway, was driving a waggon, loaded with hay, on the Liphook and Petersfield road, when, by some means he fell, and the wheels passed over his legs and body. He was taken to the Half Moon public house, at Sheet, where Mr. Robert Cross, surgeon, was soon in attendance, but the poor man died in a short time.
