FIRE ON THE HEATH.—On Wednesday evening last a fire broke out near the eastern extremity of the Heath, which raged for several hours with great fury, the wind was blowing strongly from the north and it was found impossible to arrest the progress of the fire, until it reached a deep trench which intersects the Heath, where it burnt itself out, but not until it had extended over from 15 to 20 acres. The origin of the fire is not known.
