GUILDFORD, Aug. 4.
FLEMYNG v. HECTOR, M.P.

This action was brought by the plaintiff to recover the amount of his bill for wines, supplied to the Westminster Reform Club, of which the defendant, Charles Hector, Esq., the member for the borough of Petersfield, was a member.

Mr. Sergeant Andrews and Mr. Chambers appeared for the plaintiff; Mr. Thessiger and Mr. Platt for the defendant.

From the evidence of the Secretary for the Westminster Reform Club, it transpired that the defendant had entered himself a member, and paid the 15 guineas for his subscription, and had busied himself in its affairs. He had signed a requisition for a meeting of the members, and frequently dined there, and generally asked for some of Flemyng's wine.

Mr. Thessiger, on the part of the defendant, denied his liability.

The LEARNED JUDGE, however, held that he was liable for the wines supplied after he became a member of the club, but not for those furnished prior to his joining it.

Verdict for the plaintiff, damages, 62l.
