THE FOLLOWING ESTATES ARE OFFERED FOR SALE IN THE QUARTER OF CHAGUANAS
The Sugar Estate ‟ENDEAVOUR,” including the ‟Waterloo” Estate, containing 519 Acres, of which 246 Acres are in Canes and 16 Acres in Pasture; the cultivation is in good order; there is a Steam Engine with Horizontal Sugar Mill and Boiling power equal to a Crop of 400 Hogsheads sugar. The Works are in good order. The Estate is well stocked. The distance from the shipping place is 3½ miles. The Crop last year was 300 Hogsheads, and the same quantity is expected this year.
The Sugar Estate ‟PETERSFIELD,” containing 460 Acres, of which 220 Acres are in Canes and 16 Acres in Pasture. This Estate has a Steam Engine with Horizontal Sugar Mill and Boiling power equal to a Crop of 400 Hogsheads Sugar. The Works are in good order, and the supply of Stock is ample. The Crop last year was 250 Hogsheads; the Crop to be reaped this year is 300 Hogsheads. The distance from the shipping place is about two miles.
The Quarter of Chaguanas is about eight miles from Port of Spain, and there is steam communication daily. A Tramway is being laid down from the shipping place, which will be soon open for traffic.
IN THE QUARTER OF SAVONETTA,
The Sugar Estate ‟MOUNT PLEASANT,” containing 500 Acres of Land, of which 160 Acres are in Canes, and 23 Acres in Pasture; the Crop expected this year is 220 Hogsheads Sugar. This Estate has a Steam Engine, Horizontal Sugar Mill, and Works equal to a Crop of 400 Hogsheads Sugar; the Boiling House has been thoroughly repaired; the Engine House is newly built. There is a Distillery, with Patent still and every requisite for the production of 250 Puncheons Rum. The distance from the shipping place is about two miles.
The Sugar Estate ‟FORRES PARK,” adding the Mount Pleasant, containing about 320 Acres of Land, of which 2?5 Acres are in Canes, and 13 Acres are in Pasture. The Crop of this year is expected to be 250 Hogsheads. There is a Horizontal Sugar Mill, Steam Engine erected last year, and Boiling Power equal to a Crop of 400 Hogsheads. The Boiling House was built only in 1859. Distance from the shipping place about 2½ miles.
The Sugar Estate ‟CEDAR HILL,” adjoining the Forres Park Estate, containing about 520 Acres of Land, of which 485 Acres are in Canes and 11 Acres in Pasture. This Estate has a Horizontal Sugar Mill, Steam Engine, and Works, equal to a Crop of 400 Hhds. The distance from the shipping place is 2½ miles.
IN THE QUARTER OF LA BREA.
The Sugar Estate ‟MON PLAISIR,” containing 1619 Acres, of which 235 Acres are in Canes, and 64 Acres in Pasture. There is a Steam Engine, Horizontal Sugar Mill, and Boiling Power equal to the yearly production of 400 Hhds. Sugar; the Works are newly built, the Crop this year will be 250 Hhds., and lands have been planted to increase the Crop to 300 Hhds. for next year. The distance from the shipping place is three miles.
IN THE QUARTER OF GUAPO.
The Sugar Estate ‟PERSEVERANCE,” containing 948 Acres land, of which 250 Acres are in Canes, and 90 Acres in Pasture, with Steam Engine, Horizontal Sugar Mill, and Boiling Power capable of manufacturing a Crop of 400 Hhds. Sugar yearly. The Works are in good order, and the Estate well stocked. The Crop will be 240 Hhds. Sugar this year—the distance from the Shipping place is one mile, and easy Cartage—the Pasture lands are of the finest descriptions.
