PETERSFIELD, DECEMBER 28.

FUNERAL OF THE PRINCE CONSORT.—On Monday the whole of the shops in this town were partly closed throughout the day, as well as many private houses, as a mark of respect and loyalty to our beloved Queen, in consequence of the funeral of his late Royal Highness Prince Albert. The church bells commenced tolling at 8 o’clock a.m., and continued at intervals until 2 p.m., which had a very solemn effect. Most inhabitants in this locality have placed themselves in decent mourning.
