Wednesday last being the General Fast Day, it was observed by the inhabitants in a truly becoming and religious all kinds  of business was suspended during the day; the church and chapel were both crowded to an overflow at each place of worship, service was performed in the morning, afternoon, and evening, and a concluding service took place at the Independent Chapel on Thursday evening. A collection was made at the church door, after the services of Wednesday, when nearly £24 was collected in addition to £25 collected about a month since, in compliance with the Queen's letter, for the destitute Irish; and through the kindness and continued urgent and affecting appeals from the pulpit of the Rev. J. Moreland, Independent Minister, the sum of £8  4s. was raised by the congregation worshiping in his Chapel, in the College-street.
