PETERSFIELD.

HOUSEBREAKING.—GEORGE DERBY, a private in the 97th Regt. of Foot, stationed at Gosport (who, it appears from the evidence, was a deserter from two other regiments), was brought up, on Monday last, at the Magistrates’ Clerk’s Office, before the Hon. J. J. Carnegie, charged with breaking into the dwellinghouse of William Stacey, at Froxfield, on the 11th of January last, and stealing therefrom various articles of wearing apparel (leaving his own) valued at £1 5s. The case was proved, and he was committed for trial at the Quarter Sessions, at Winchester.
