GUN ACCIDENT—NARROW ESCAPE.—Mr. Thomas Maxwell, of Nursted Farm, was a few days since within a hairs-breadth of losing his life in the following manner—he was in the act of drawing the charge from one of the barrels of his gun, having inadvertently left the lock of the other on full cock, when from some cause the hammer fell and the whole charge passed so close to his head as to singe his eyebrow and carry away a portion of the brim of his hat, happily, however, although so nearly a dead man, he escaped entirely unhurt.
