     Business recommenced on Tuesday morning in the Crown Court, before F. R. Thresher, Esq., chairman; W. Farr, Esq., C. Castleman, Esq., H. J. Mulcock, Esq., and the Rev. J. T. Maine. For the dispatch of business a second court was opened, in which Mr. Farr presided.

     The prisoners were disposed of as follows :—

Ten Years’ Penal Servitude
・Job Oliver and John Goodfellow (soldiers), for stealing at Winchester, a watch and chain, the property of Douglas Clark.
Nine Months’ Imprisonment
・Ralph Vile (draper’s assistant), for stealing six table cloths, 51 yards of linen and divers other articles, the property of his mistress, Anna Maria Good, at Lymington.
・Elizabeth Ford and George Brown, for stealing a purse and money, at Portsdown, the property of Edward Way.
・Samuel Toogood, for stealing a watch, at Alverstoke, the property of Benjamin Greenway.
—Twelve Months’ Imprisonment

・John Croad, for breaking into the house of Charles Lane, at Freshwater.
・William O’Connor for stealing a clock, at Carisbrook, the property of Charles Holden.
・Charles Palmer, for stealing a pair of gloves at North Waltham, the property of George Spratt.
・George Lawrence, for stealing a pair of boots, at Christchurch, the property of Mary Randall.
・Charles Hawkins, for stealing money, at Laverstoke, the property of Thomas Jordan.
・David Cook, for stealing two gold rings at Boldre, the property of John Sherwood, and to be remanded to terminate his former sentence of transportation (to forfeit his ticket of leave).
