The late bank of Hector, Lacey, and Co. of Petersfield, was re-opened on Wednesday by a branch of the London and County Joint Stock Company, of which it is understood Mr. Lacey will remain as manager, Hector and Co.'s notes were immediately exchanged for those of the Bank of England, and arrangements are made for the immediate settlement of all the affairs of the late firm. The partners were entertained at dinner on Thursday by a large party of their friends, and the evening was spent with the utmost hilarity. We understand that Mr. Hector stated that when his correspondents stopped his further credit he had 26,000l. worth of securities in their hands, and only owed them six. The payment of these notes has diffused great joy through Petersfield and the neighbourhood.
