PETERSFIELD.

A RARA AVIS.—A young speckled hen, of the common farm yard breed, noted for her prolific property, and belonging to Mrs. Port, of the Swan Inn, has lately produced an egg of a shape and size almost surprising, even to those in the habit of keeping a poultry yard. To be thoroughly convinced, the egg should seen. We will, however, give the correct measure and weight:— Weight, 3¾ ounces, being 1½ ounce more than one of her four fine eggs produced against it; measure in circumference, 6½ inches; measure around the length, 8 inches.
