PETERSFIELD.—On Tuesday Mr. Henry Holdaway appeared in the Bankruptcy Court, London, before Mr Commissioner Holroyd. Mr. Holdaway had been in an extensive way of business as a maltster and brewer, at Petersfield, and he now came up for the purpose of passing his adjourned last examination. Mr. Harpur, of Kennington Cross, attended as solicitor for Messrs. Burnett and Co. the creditors assignees. The whole of the bankrupt’s furniture, fixtures, plant, &c. had been seized under an execution by a creditor named Crassweller, and the present fiat was issued in order to obtain possession of the property for equal distribution among the creditors, who chiefly reside at Winchester, Petersfield, Havant, Trotton, Westbourne, and Mayfield. The bankrupt's examination was adjourned in consequence of the general inaccuracy of his balance sheet in respect of the amount of property given up, and the amended accounts upon which he now applied to pass were thus summed up :—

Since the last meeting the property has been sold for £3000 to pay off the mortgages, and Mr Crassweller has withdrawn his execution on receiving half the amount of his claim. No opposition was offered to the amended accounts, and the bankrupt was therefore allowed to pass his last examination.
