PETERSFIELD.

     THE HORTICULTURAL SHOW.—This show took place on Tuesday, in the National School, and notwithstanding the unfavorable weather, a large number of persons were in attendance during the afternoon. The exhibition was of a very superior kind of every description of fruit, plants, flowers, vegetables, &c., &c., and previous to the awards being made, Sir W. G. Jolliffe, Bart., M.P., made a very appropriate speech, highly complimenting the successful competitors, who were very numerous from almost every village within eight miles of the town. The Haslemere brass band was in attendance.
