PETERSFIELD.

JUVENILE CRICKET MATCH.—A match was played on Thursday last, in the rectory grounds, Buriton, between eleven boys of the Petersfield National Schools, with the master, Mr. Macfarland, and eleven young gentlemen of the town and neighbourhood, with the Rev. J. M. Sumner and the Rev. T. Field. Wickets were pitched at twelve o’clock. The young gentlemen opened the play, scoring 53 runs in the first innings; the ‟boys” then took the bat and fetched 55. In the second innings the  gentlemen lost their first three wickets without a single run, and the entire score only reached 25. The ‟Nationals” accordingly went in in high heart and soon scored the needful, leaving six wickets to go down. A sumptuous dinner was provided on the lawn, at which the worthy rector presided, Captain Evelegh occupying the vice chair.—Several ladies visited the grounds and evinced a lively interest in the progress of the game; Mrs. Sumner was also indefatigable in her efforts to make the juveniles happy, and, if smiling faces and hearty cheers are any criterion,  she was eminently successful. The following is the score:—
