PETERSFIELD.

LIFE ASSURANCE.—On Thursday evening last, a lecture on this highly important subject, was delivered at the National School rooms, by Mr. Flint, at which, owing, we presume, to the lateness of the hour of commencing (half-past eight), there were but very few persons present. The lecturer stated in a clear and intelligible manner the principles on which Life Assurance is based and pointed out with much force the advantages accruing to the assured, and strenuously urged upon his audience the duty of availing themselves of so effectual a means of making provision for the future either for themselves or those dependent on them.
