CELEBRATION OF THE PRINCE OF WALES’S WEDDING DAY.To the Editor of the West Sussex Gazette.—Sir,—I propose to mark the event of the of the Prince of Wales’s wedding by a large bonfire on the top of War Down, which is the highest point of the Southdown range in this neighbourhood, and it occurs to me that if you would make the proposal known, others would illuminate the Downs in their proximity in a similar manner, and that thus at a very moderate amount of co-operation, a grand effect might be produced, which would long live in the memories of both old and young. Of course such arrangements should be made as would ensure a coincidence in the time of lighting the several fires; therefore, should others follow my example, I beg to inform you that my bonfire will commence punctually at ten p.m.—I am, sir, yours, &c., LOTHIAN NICHOLSON, Lieut.-Col.. R.E.—Adhurst St. St. Mary, Petersfield.
