LIBRARY AND READING ROOM.—The Committee of this Institution, with a view to replenish their exchequer, which we are sorry to learn is not in a very flourishing condition, engaged Mr. Frederic Yorke Melon to give his popular entertainment at the Town Hall, on Tuesday evening last, when the room was completely filled with a highly respectable auditory, and great satisfaction was expressed at the manner which Mr. Melon went through the performance, which was of a very miscellaneous character, comprising delineations and impersonations from Shakespeare, humourous sketches of character, songs, &c., the whole of which passed off very successfully.
