PETERSFIELD, HANTS.

     THE Inspectors appointed for Lighting the Town of Petersfield, in the County of Southampton, by virtue of an Act of Parliament passed in the third and fourth years of the reign of his late Majesty King William the Fourth, cap. 90, do hereby give Notice, that they are desirous of receiving Proposals from any Person or Persons willing to undertake the LIGHTING the STREETS, ROADS, and other Places of or in the said Town, and to furnish lamps, lamp-irons, lamp-posts, and other things necessary for that purpose; and that it is the intention of such Inspectors to enter into a Contract with the Person or Persons whose proposals for the purpose shall be accepted.

     Tenders to be sent to the Secretary, on the 17th day of August, stating the charge per lamp for thirty. One lamp, now standing, to be lit with gas, with the addition of three extra oil lamps, to be placed as follows :—

One at the corner of the old Poor House, in the Back lane;
one at the south end of Short-lane;
and one at the bottom of Tilmore-lane.

Such lamps to be lighted half an hour after sunset, and extinguished at 11 o’clock p.m. Seven nights in each Iunation excepted.

     The Inspectors will not be bound to accept the lowest or an only Tender.
