The next Bill submitted was for authorizing the London and South-Western Company to purchase lands, to extend and improve stations, make arrangements with other companies for the interchange of traffic at certain points, to confirm agreements with the Petersfield for amalgamation with the South-Western Company; also arrangements with regard to the Chard undertaking, the Ringwood and Christchurch, and the Bishop’s Waltham undertakings; to make agreements in respect of the Epsom and Leatherhead, jointly with the London and Brighton Company; also arrangements with the latter company and the West London Extension for an interchange of traffic at the Falcon junction.
On the motion of the CHAIRMAN, seconded by Capt. JOHNSON, a formal resolution approving the Bill was carried unanimously.

Special meetings of the Chard and Petersfield share-holders were held at the Waterloo Station on the same day, Captain Mangles in the chair, when resolutions were passed for amalgamating the Chard and Petersfield lines with the London and South-Western Railway.
