ROBT. ROE, whom I lately discharged from my employ for dishonesty, has been writing to several gentlemen who hired my machine, requesting them not to pay me; I beg to inform my friends, that if any.one of them pay Roe anything on my account, they will have to pay it again, as Roe never had anything to do with the machine, except being employed by me as a servant. Roes has also stated that the reason he embezzled my money was because he could not get the amount to pay the men, which is entirely false, and, to prove to the public who might be induced to credit such assertions, I have enclosed a statement received from the ‟Chichester Bank, Sep. 30, 1857. Sir,—In reply to your communication, Roe has been in the habit of drawing money here for wages once a week, on your account, with our Petersfield Branch, which we paid him at your request, and continued to do so until you withdrew our authority for so doing. I am, sir, yours truly, J. BENWELL, Manager.”
