PETERSFIELD UNION.

ELECTION OF MEDICAL OFFICER.

     THE Guardians of the above Union will, at a meeting to be held at the Board-room in the Union Workhouse on Thursday, the 18th day of March, 1869, proceed to ELECT a duly qualified MEDICAL OFFICER for the Second District, comprising the Parishes of Buriton, Petersfield, and Steep, the acreage being about 9,179, and the population 3,165. The salary will be 44l. 2s. per annum, with the extra fees for the performance of surgical operations, midwifery, and vaccination cases, as authorised by the Guardians, and prescribed by the consolidated orders of the Poor Law Board.
    The Guardians will also at the above meeting proceed to elect a Medical Officer for the Petersfield Union Work-house. The salary will be 31l. 10s. per annum.
     The supply of medicines, surgical instruments, and all other medical and surgical attendances must in every case be provided by and at the expense of the Medical Officer, who will be required to reside within the district, and be prepared to enter on the performance of his duties on the 1st day of April next.
     Forms of contracts may be seen and further information obtained on application to the Clerk, with whom diplomas and testimonials must be left on or before the 13th day of March, 1869.
