BRITISH AND FOREIGN BIBLE SOCIETY.—A meeting in behalf of this society was held in the National School Room on Wednesday evening last, the Rev. M. A. Smelt in the chair, (the Rector being unavoidably absent). The Parent Society was represented on the occasion by the Rev. T. O. Gifford, rector of Hartley Wintney, and the meeting was also addressed by the Rev. G. Orme, Minister of the Independent Chapel, the Rev. T. Field, and the chairman.
